It has been more than 5 years under consideration but finally the GBS Association can reveal their new logo and website. It was ‘just a matter of timing and finding the right team to bring the logo and website to life’ says Treasurer, Editor and Web Facilitator Christine Simpson-Morgan.
Our vision was to provide newly diagnosed patients and their families with a user friendly and simple portal, giving them access to practical and helpful information. We wanted the site to be a source of reference for the medical fraternity too, doctors, nurses, physio’s and OT’s, in fact anyone seeking information about GBS, CIDP or related disorders should find this a ‘one-stop-shop’.
Our new logo is a symbolic representation of who we are and how we want people to see us. We hope that the image presented, along with the look and feel of the site, communicates a supportive group who will be there to help people see a ‘brand new day’ when coming out of the worst of GBS, CIDP or related disorders. We have many people to thank for helping us create our new public face. Firstly our new webmaster Peter Russell who has donated many hours bringing the site to life.
We would also like to acknowledge the efforts of our previous webmaster Max Valente who made an indelible contribution to the Association over many years and has created a legacy in the relationship we have built with Sam Khoury of Smartprint who now donates the printing of our Recovery newsletter.
Christine also wanted to recognize the other Committee for their un-wavering support and selfless attitude towards helping others. This support group does just that, but it is also more, once you are connected – it becomes family.
